Life ~ End of Oct
Posted by hlyeoh @ Mon 29 Oct, 07, 11:50PM under Starfish- Life

 >>> NIght 11.38pm

 >>> Thinking, surfing, relaxing .. Finding a space to really relax my mind, my soul ..

 >>> Busy life, too many things I wan to do .. too many things I need to complete.

 >>> Looking back ... I have a great 2008. I have achieved some of my goals. I have been to

many places, I have been meeting different kind of people, I have more roles to play

now. I am still finding something, maybe it is life ultimation, maybe it is my ultimate

career path .. maybe .. a lot of uncertainties.

 >>> Nothing has changed. I am still the same, same hairstyle, same outlook ... But I hope I

      have at least growed up.

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>  Next great trip is coming up. :) I

certainly burnt a big hole in my pocket this year.

Japan .. here I come
Posted by hlyeoh @ Wed 01 Aug, 07, 10:25AM under Starfish- Life

In the next 3 weeks, I am going to Japan, it is like a dream.. I have never thought that this will come so soon. The main purpose of going to Japan is to join Buddhist Youth Exchange program, which excited me at the thought of able to meet new friends from other countries. Besides, I get to learn more on Buddhism. Hopefully, I can get to practise more on Buddhism teaching. It is really an opportunity for me, especially I have never thought I will be selected to go after considering all the factors.

The flight to Japan is quite expensive, it sure burnt a hole in my pocket. I am planning to extend a few days to tour around Japan. The questions arise to whether I should backpack alone or find others. It is rather hard to find the people to go now, as I only have 3 weeks to prepare. My brother has warned me that not many Japanese are able to speak English, and I will sure be losted since I am not familiar with Japanese. :( ..  Everything in Japan is expensive.. I have a crazy thought of spending a night slept at park, my friend told me that during night time there are actually many poor old folk who sleep at the public park. I was actually shock to hear this as Japan is a rich, and advance country and thus this should not happen.

Worse come to worst .. hehe .. I am ready to venture alone. I feel a bit frightened deep down my heart. Hmm.. I need to be broad. {not convincing enuf}. Let's see how .. Have to keep my mind open, think positive. Think on the optimistic side. Yeah .. I am going to Japan.

Help needed : constructive info on Japan tour.

Snake Temple
Posted by hlyeoh @ Thu 19 Jul, 07, 07:36PM under Starfish- Life

Living in Penang for the past 20+ years, I have never visited snake temple before. I lived very close by in that area, it only takes 10-20 mins to reach.Today, the consultant from India asked me whether I can take them to visit snake temple. Haha .. I promised them that I will bring them to visit sometimes next week during lunch time.  Hopefully, there are still some snakes to see there, I heard that most of the snakes have run away in these recent years due to "feng shui" changed, lots of construction take place. Snake dont like that. ^0^

Have a tense week, because many things take place, I am hoping to learn more from the consultant, and also try to see how they solve the SAP issues. There are many issues raise due to new system replacing old system. I like the new system, as I manage to find a lot of useful info from the web. The new system is quite complex. Ha.. today, I have managed to do 1 cycle of sales order creation until shipment with the incessant questions that I posted to the consultant, who is unfortunately sit beside me. He is a patient guy.

The most enjoyable thing for me in the past few days was having lunch with them. They came to work on Monday, thus I have been stationed to come to work as well on Monday, although Mon is replacement holiday for penang governor's birthday on SAT. I bought them to eat lunch in one of the Indian restaurant. Haha.. we ordered banana leaf, I only realised that they use banana leaf as replacement for plate, there is how the name originated. The special thing was that I followed their culture and eat with my hand. hehe .. it tastes nice using hand to eat :) I enjoy myself eating in this way :) Then we ordered lassi, some indian candy as well, they shared with me some indian culture and introduce the indian food name to me etc. I love Indian food, because I like to eat spicy food. :)

Tomorrow is Friday, my family should be coming from Macau then ... I was suppose to go with them, however my leave has to be cancelled. No leave approved for month July. I am actually very sad, because I dun get the chance to travel with my family =( ...

It is approaching to 8pm, hmm.. enjoying myself sitting quietly in the conference room typing the blog. Very quiet and peaceful.

My recent Life
Posted by hlyeoh @ Wed 20 Jun, 07, 11:32PM under Starfish- Life

Hmm.. Long time I didnt update my blog. It has been quite a long time that I didnt online at night. My pc has been giving me some hard time. I have bought a new XP installer with servicepack2. Hopefully, I wont have to format again. Pray..pray .. :)

Recently i am a bit busy with activities. Last 2 weeks, I took part as commitee in writing camp, and I must say the speakers invited  are great, I enjoyed the talk and the sharings. I hope I will write more on this next time. It has been long time I didnt take part as commitee, it is actually an eye-opener for me to work with new friends. They are great, and commited. It is very different from the way that I used to hold camp back in university. More systematic, and every meeting need to be recorded down with proper format. The structure of the commitee is also different. I mean the roles and responsibilities.

Chat with many friends in msn tonight. They shared with me many nice musics. Among one of the songs received is written by taiwan aborigine. The language used is also in taiwan aborigine. It reminded me about ah mei. :) The other updated things is about a documentaries called  sicko, directed by famous Michael Moore, he is my favourite movie director  :) I havent watched yet, and I am in the process of using new software called utorrent to download. Oh ya .. with new XP version, I am now using explorer 7. I like the new layout, with each new window opened, it will show in new tab under the same window.

What else about me?

My left eye is suffering from allergy. It swells a bit, I thought it was red eyes, and asked my collegues, users in my company not to see me and close to me. Went to see doctor, but doctor didnt let me know what kind of allergy is that. Maybe it is not red eyes. There are 2 colleagues of mine are actually affected by red eyes, and theye were resting at home. My boss is also sick. Do you realise many people are sick recently? Ha.. the clinic that I visited are actually flooded with patients as well. Weather change..perhaps. So, do take care yourself. Drink more herbal tea :) Eat fruits, blanket yourself at night :)

What I enjoyed doing now?

Rest ! Watch movie with my friends... I hardly able to squeeze out my time to do that. I wanted to watch the pirate of caribbean. Ha.. I know that this movie is going to stop showing soon by cinema. Some past time read blogs, books. Find my old friends, gathering .. perhaps shopping. Shop for books, try out new food in penang.

Next thing to do ...

:) .... hehe. Find didi and dada to learn meditation. Learn pranamaya. Exam. Be more hardworking in the class, pay attention. I hardly wanted to touch technical books now.

I am back from Sabah

DSC00479.JPG img_0200.jpg IMG_5147.jpg img_7065.jpg

Yee-Har .. I am back alive from Sabah, hurray. :)

Some background Info of the places I went  ::

Mountain Kinabalu-

Size: 4,343 sq. km
Highest Point: Mount Kinbalu (4,101 meters)

With its peak at 4,101 meters (and growing), Mount Kinabalu is the highest mountain in South-East Asia.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mount_Kinabalu/

  • The trail is long as we have chosen the longest path to hike (Mesilau) , the scenery on the way up is like a heaven, (because of the fogs  =o).  The plants grown on KK are rarely seen on land. There was raining intermittently on the way up, I felt some difficulties in breathing, as the air pressure is low.  We started at 8am, reached at around 4pm.
  • Reached laban rata, (half hill ), took our lunch, I ordered a nasi goring. That is the biggest plate of nasi goreng I have ever eaten.
  • Rested until 2am. Shivering cold. Didn’t able to sleep at all, I wore 3 jackets + 2 t-shirts, 2 gloves, 2 pairs of socks, and yet I still feel the cold. The air temperature was  around 6-8 celcius degree.
  • Took some light breakfast, started to hike. Have to use torch light to see the road, the surrounding is dark, but I can still see the moon and the stars.
  • Breathing becomes even harder, feel some pain in my heart, thought that I have heart attack..haha! I need to slow down to breath slowly. All my teammates have already walked quite far ahead, they have losted in sight, only left me with the hiking guide. The guide will usually accompany the last person in the group.  The guide told me to take my pace, don’t force myself to climb up. I only have one goal in my mind, which is to reach the summit.
  • On the way up to the submit, we need to use the rope to help us over the steeper parts.  It was scarry …it has some level of dangerous.

  • Reached submit eventually at around 6 or 630am. The whole scenery  even looks like fairy land. It was the exact scenery you saw when you boarded on plane, where the clouds are under your feet.  You feel like walking above  the clouds.
  • At around 10pm, we need to descend as the clouds usually begin to form, The clouds could obstruct visibility,

Kundasang war memorial -
The Kinabalu Park, Malaysia’s first World Heritage Site and the Kundasang War Memorial were established as tribute to the memory of the 2,428 Australians and British POWs who died in Sandakan, Ranau or on the Death Marches.

* I expert to see some graveyard but end up we saw a very beautiful European style of garden, with very nice landscape, like a fairly land. We even saw a rainbow while we were lingering there.

Hot Spring –

The Poring Hot Springs, located nearby, are another prime attraction. The springs were developed first by the Japanese during W.W.II. Today the springs are piped into several open air, Japanese-style baths. The hot springs contain sulfur water, which has curative properties for skin diseases.

Water Rafting –

The two main rivers for rafting in Sabah are the Padas and Kiulu Rivers, which are certified as Grade 3 and Grade 2 respectively in the international white water rafting grading system. Under normal weather conditions, the two rivers are relatively constant in depth and speed. However, heavy rains can cause them to swell into Grade 4 Rivers. During heavy downpour rafting activities may be called off temporarily.

First sight at the water, it was scarry. The river is fast flowing, last few days have been raining heavily and it added more thrills and excitement to the sport. ( It was grade as 3 and 4 on that day) .

7 people in one boat, 2 guides accompanied us.  We went through many rapids, big and small, they name the rapids as tsunami, house horse, snake etc .. funny name,  it depends on the rapids at that area.

We ( 5 out of 7 people) were flung to the river at the last rapids, we didn’t expect it to happen, so we drank a lot of free milo-o. It was scarry at first, because the water is fast flowing. I managed to be rescued by other boat Samaritans.   The whole episode is made exciting because we were thrown into the water, my friends thought that they were going to die soon.

We learnt after that the guide purposely made our boat to turn over.  J

If you want to enjoy a simple life, this is a place to go :0) .. Remember to choose the backparker style of hotel to stay,  the rooms are clean, and you feel at home.

There are still 2 days before my flight to Sabah .. But My heart has already flied to Sabah. 6 of us have the first time lunch gathering in Sunshine Market to discuss our journey. Everyone is so excited and anticipated for the trip. TengChow was even worse, he thought today was Friday ! but actually it was just Thursday. Everyone laughed at him.

There are so many things to pack.. Things like medicine placed the top list that I need to prepare.

List of medicine:

1. Charcoal - to help prevent diarrhoer

2. Altitude medicine - to prevent altitude symptoms

3. plasters

4. Diarrhoer medicines ..

Besides all the medicines, I have to prepared for my sweater. I wonder whether I can survive under  4 degress celcius weather. That is too scary to think. I am the person that cant stand cold weather. Yet, I like the cooling feeling. hehe.

Browsing through all my friends photos in friendster, and it brought all the sweet old days of my university days back to my memory. Really missed those friends, everyone has grown up. They look different now, physically changed. Look prettier .. :)

Wore a new clothes to office today, not entirely new, just that I seldom wear to office. It brings some attention 2 my supervisor. He had been complaining on my attire many times, saying I should buy new clothes, not once but a few times... So, on seeing me wearing new clothes, he sure did some "talking", bringing other curiosity colleagues come 2 c   =|

Hai .. boss.. u increase my salary la, then I will have $$ to buy. That is my reply to him. Short and precise ! Straight to the point. haha.

.... Late night.

Should sleep now. Konbanwa.

Appreciation
Posted by hlyeoh @ Sat 07 Apr, 07, 12:12AM under Starfish- Life

Passing a day with blossom appreciation, thanks for the patient consultant in India for his patience in answering my questions, with so many emails communicating in different part of the world. Thanks that my senior who spend time educating me a new method in uploading data, thanks that everyone around me today are feeling happy, hehe, Friday ma. Thanks that I am manage to control myself by enduring the 45 minutes drive from my company towards sungai ara. My legs are a bit pain, am tired, thinking about my work, no time in weekends to finish my stuff, having have to pass many traffic lights, that really make a challenge to myself. :) Thanks that I reach safely.

"Make it a habit to tell people thank you.
To express your appreciation, sincerely and without the expectation of anything in return.
Truly appreciate those around you, and you'll soon find many others around you.
Truly appreciate life, and you'll find that you have more of it."

Good night.

My Eyes
Posted by hlyeoh @ Wed 28 Mar, 07, 11:25PM under Starfish- Life

My right eye has confirmed got infection, slightly itchy, with a small lump. Sometimes, will feel watery. My tears dropped. It reminds me to take care of my daily hygience. Apparently, my exercise routine has peaked the top, with so much perspiration pouring down after working out, it is very easier to get infection.

Went to see doctor in sungai dua, this is my 3rd time to visit this doctor after 1/2 years I didnt visit her. The moment I saw her, I said to the female doctor that "doctor, u looked familiar to me" .. She was like a bit shock, I guess no patient ever said so to her? She didnt watched at me, but continually looking at my record. I think for sometimes, if I am not mistaken, she is one of the members in the aerobic class that I joined. I didnt ask her anyway.

我的生活hrcåõqcϬtcÀicÄrcÀic
Posted by hlyeoh @ Tue 27 Mar, 07, 12:14AM under Starfish- Life
